Two-phase High-voltage Stepper Motor Driver

No.ZPD2722M
This two-phase high-voltage stepper motor driver utilizes a TI 32-bit DSP as its core processing chip. Two current sensors form a current closed-loop control system. It supports single-pulse, double-pulse, and internal self-generating pulse modes. The power supply voltage is directly connected to 220VAC input, enabling the motor to maintain torque at high speeds. The driver can drive large stepper motors in the 110, 130, and 150 series. It is widely used in various applications such as zipper machines and packaging machines.

The ZPD2722M is a two-phase stepper motor driver based on DSP control. It integrates an advanced DSP control chip with unique control circuitry to form a new generation of fully digital stepper motor drivers. With a driving voltage range of AC110~220V, it is compatible with various models of two-phase hybrid stepper motors that have a current rating below 7.0A and an outer diameter of 86~130mm. The driver incorporates circuitry based on principles similar to servo control, enabling smooth motor operation with minimal vibration and noise. Its positioning accuracy can reach up to 40,000 pulses per revolution. This product is widely used in high-resolution large and medium-sized CNC equipment such as engraving machines, medium-sized CNC machine tools, computerized embroidery machines, and packaging machinery.

Description

Product Introduction

  • High performance, low price

  • Equipped with 16-level constant microstepping with equal angle, higher resolution up to 40,000 pulses/rev

  • Higher response frequency up to 500K pps

  • When the stepping pulse stops for more than 100ms, the coil current is automatically reduced to half of the set current

  • Optically isolated signal input/output

  • Drive current adjustable from 1.2A/phase to 7.0A/phase in 16 steps

  • Single power supply input, voltage range: AC 110-220V

  • Power-off phase memory function (the system automatically memorizes the phase in case of accidental or manual power-off/shutdown)

  • I/O signals, all input signals are optically isolated, compatible with signal levels from 5V to 24V

  • Pulse smoothing function, enabling smoother low-speed motor operation, smoothing level adjustable

  • Adjustable motor inductance to maximize stepper motor performance

Precautions
  1. The input voltage must not exceed AC 270V;

  2. The input pulse signal is effective on the falling edge; control via the rising edge requires setting the internal parameters of the driver;

  3. When the driver temperature exceeds 75°C, the driver stops working and the fault indicator ALM lights up. The driver can resume operation only after the temperature drops to 50°C and the power is re-applied. If overheating protection is triggered, please install a heat sink;

  4. Overcurrent (load short circuit) fault indicator ALM lights up. Please check the motor wiring and other short-circuit faults. After troubleshooting, reapply power to restore operation;

  5. No motor fault indicator ALM lights up. Please check the motor wiring. After troubleshooting, reapply power to restore operation.
