The ZPD258M is a new generation of fully digital stepper motor driver that combines advanced 32-bit DSP and unique control circuitry. It supports single and dual pulse modes and internal speed control. It is compatible with two-phase hybrid stepper motors with currents below 5.0A, outer diameters of 57 and 60 series, and torque less than 12Nm (86 series). Customizable subdivision functions and serial bus functionality are available.

Precautions

  1. The input voltage must not exceed DC 80V;

  2. The input pulse signal is active on the falling edge; for rising edge control, internal drive parameters need to be set;

  3. When the drive temperature exceeds 75°C, it stops working and the fault indicator ALM lights up. The drive will not resume operation until the temperature drops below 50°C and the power is re-applied. If overheating protection is triggered, please install a heat sink;

  4. If the overcurrent (load short circuit) fault indicator ALM lights up, please check the motor wiring and other possible short circuit faults. After troubleshooting, reapply power to resume operation;

  5. If the no-motor fault indicator ALM lights up, please check the motor wiring. After troubleshooting, reapply power to resume operation.
